Scenes From Lytham Road - Sixty Years On

Boarding the car at Squires Gate. A recently repainted Balloon with all cream styling to facilitate new external advertisements. Below : Boat car 225 with recently fitted driver windscreens traverses over the railway bridge on Squires Gate Lane. The Lytham St Annes transport depot and its seperate bungalow style office immediately on the right hand side with Squires Gate airport buildings further on.

Lytham Road late autumn with minimal road traffic other than a Lytham St Annes bus heading south. Standard 159 is promenade bound from Marton Depot having reversed at Station Road. Visitors are well dressed strolling southwards along Lytham Road.

Below : This railcoach is on a shortworking to Highfield Road - a frequent destination during summer months from Bispham and Cabin. The small boys are playing tag.
