The extensive tram collection stored quite openly at Wyre Dock was the subject of extensive filming by famous Director - Nick Meskell during glorious sunshine this week. His blockbuster sequel to earlier episodes of 'Starr Gate' is promised, to coincide with the 130th commemoration later this month of Blackpool's trams. A special edition of 'Trams' will also contain a photographic essay on the Trust's collection among many other episodes recorded in the past few months.

Some of the Trust's trams are not quite in a pristine state; but from the filming 'rushes' seem to be withstanding the rigours of the Fylde coast's weather - and are far from graveyard hulks favoured in the gothic thrillers of other producers.

Released at the North Pier Odeon - 'Starr Gate Returns' film will be a must have collectors item when it becomes available, together with its print special. Make sure of your copy to avoid disappointment. Image : John Woodman Note the flora surround
