ADL Doppelganger

A cold and blustery weekend still saw a reasonable number of decidedly out of season visitors taking a break by the seaside. Camera toting enthusiasts were attracted by the sight of several of Blackpool's traditional trams operating tours up and down the promenade but greater attention was evident with the entry into service of yet a further Alexander Dennis double deck bus on the lengthy journey to Fleetwood.

The ADL Enviro Demonstrator in pale blue colours was caught whilst it made a regulation stop opposite the Visitor Centre - no doubt giving passengers of the 1 Service something of a 'special treat'. Both Photos : John Woodman

Below : a classic bus profile against the backdrop of ongoing work on the facade of the Savoy Bowl building (long overdue). Next door the former 'Burtons the Tailors' corner structure has been given a refurbishment to a high quality.

A contrast in liveries with an ADL on the 14 Service at the temporary Promenade stop (note yellow outline on the roadway) and the ADL Enviro Demonstrator (500) passing to get to its own stop a few yards further south. Bus services having been impacted by the closure of Market Street due to a makeover of the existing service stops (see previous Blog) - now involve alternative routing onto the Promenade for a brief period.
