The Glory Of Marton's Trams 1901 - 1962

John Woodman

The sight of two Marton 'Vambacs' passing each other on Clifton Street just before the very tight curve on to Abingdon Street reminds me of the strict instruction to tram drivers on this line that no rams should pass each other on the curve because of clearance issues. As far as I know this rule was adhered to and this is the closest to such an event happening. The imposing frontage of the GPO provides the backdrop. Photo John Woodman
