A Wedding in Clitheroe

A glorious summer weekend in the heart of Lancashire and a sight to gladden the eye this afternoon.

LTT preserved Atlantean 1805 of the Ribble fleet on a working assignment in the Ribble Valley - awaiting arrival of a wedding party in the centre of Clitheroe. The driver allowed a peak inside this immaculate ambassador of a transport era from yesteryear before arrival of the bride and groom.

The ever classic outline of the Atlantean with its distinctive rear 'bustle'. All the more impressive in the cherry red and cream colours of Ribble Motor Services of Frenchwood Preston. Even more apt in the centre of a Lancashire community and its equally distinctive architecture.

The Wedding Party prepare to board 1805 for the short journey to their reception.

Thanks to Philip Higgs and Eric Berry and friends for saving this transport gem and ensuring it continues to provide a working link with our recent past. Also thanks to Tim - the driver of 1805 who allowed the Author to inspect this great vehicle now part of the ClassicBus fleet and a popular performer for private parties - especially in Lancashire.
