Blackpool's buses deserve another airing (publication wise) and the delivery of 25 new double deckers and the consequent withdrawal of many if not most of the second hand Trident type double deckers this past week has seen a big difference on the main services.
Tilling Stevens to Alexander Dennis is a pictorial gallery of the varied buses which Blackpool's council owned/controlled transport system has operated since 1921 when the first buses began an inaugural route linking Thornton Railway Station with Cleveleys Tram Station. In our usual A4 landscape format and with supporting material including guides, timetables and other ephemera - the book will appeal to a broad range of enthusiasts and wider public interested in the town's heritage.
Publication date is not certain (it never is due to other demands on my time) but it will be out this year with 120 pages of fulsome material. No advance orders are being accepted at this time but specific expressions of interest in reserving a copy are welcome. PS : any mailed correspondence should be addressed to RRP 15 Brooklyn Avenue, Blackpool FY3 7DP - and not to PO Box 208 in St Annes, which has been closed.
