Ireland's Day

The one and only Fintona horse tram which maintained the connection between Fintona Junction and Fintona Town Station until the very end of mainline railway operation in mid-Ulster. It also had the highest fleet number of any Irish tram !

A preserved survivor of one of the great mainline steam locomotives in Ireland. The name is of course in Gaelic and note the delightful styling of the title.

A long way from Ireland but a neatly styled modern tram somewhere in Europe. Its a pity Dublin's second generation 'light rail' fleet could not be appropriately decked in a touch of the green. Enjoy St Patrick's Day.
