MARGARET SHERIDAN - In Memorium

The tragic death on Monday this week of Margaret Sheridan, a member of staff of Waterstones bookshop in Blackpool, deserves our sympathy and respects to her family. Always friendly, helpful and courteous she had especial responsibility for dealing with local authors and ensuring their books were given the most advantageous display. Both myself and Steve Palmer were very well acquainted with Margaret over recent years, and it is a result of her work that Waterstones always had current titles from our respective efforts – on view and on sale in their Blackpool store. The circumstances of her death are now the subject of investigation and made all the more tragic for us, as she was leaving the shop for her home in Singleton shortly after speaking with Steve on the telephone. We are shocked at the news today and mourn the loss of a special person who was a delight to meet and deal with, not just on the commercial aspects of our discussions, but in the wider framework of a genuinely nice person. She will be missed by the many customers of Waterstones in Blackpool and the more so by her family and friends. R.I.P
